Arcem Alva: Lieth

Lieth is generally a nice and considerate individual, he's friendly and well-mannered, a person abundant in patience. He is capable of keeping a polite and passive stance regardless of the state of his temper. Lieth is the type to put his best foot forward especially when meeting an individual for the first time. He finds it difficult however, to make close connections with people. When around friends, Lieth becomes more animated and honest of his opinions. Lieth is also very protective and dedicated to people he had come to consider to be important to him, though there is only a few of them in his life, it might be the reason why he values them highly.

He claims to be appreciative of people of different kind but he cannot help but quickly judge people through first impressions. His personal opinion regarding an individual is not something he is vocal about, and he keeps it to himself for a good reason.

Due to his upbringing, Lieth is more than willing to tell a couple of lies if he finds it to be for the sake of the better good or if it will help ease a complicated situation or if he finds it to be justified. 

Lieth is also observant of his surroundings, and may appear fussy when he starts pointing out things that he finds to be out of place. Lieth is not the type to multi-task, and is capable of focusing on only one task at a time. Because of his careful and pessimistic outlook, he will always pick what he feels to be a safer option, and would often miss out opportunities due to his inability to gamble or take risks. 

For someone so caring and understanding, Lieth can hold grudges for a lifetime. Never forgiving and never forgetting, though he's not the type to cook up plots of revenge, it only means that his trust is not easy to regain once lost. He dislikes violence in excess, and does not approve of the idea of harming others for the sake of personal amusement or satisfaction.

Lieth's original birthplace is unknown to him, but he grew up in the empire of Koben, under a rich family. They were not his blood relatives, but they raised him, not as a son, but as a servant. He lived within the walls of the family's home, not allowed to leave, and his days were filled with nothing but working and studying under the family's personal doctor. Lieth was only ten when the house of the family he grew up under went down in flames. The family was murdered by unknown assailants, and soon, like the other servants, Lieth found himself nowhere to go. The family Doctor took Lieth in and for the first time in his life, Lieth experienced what freedom was. Life was not as easy for him and the doctor, whom Lieth had began to look up to as his father. Unknown to Lieth, the Doctor began to participate in risky and illegal work in order to feed them both, which involved frequent travels to Linhythe in order to assist the criminal organizations there for coins. 

Soon, life became better for the two and Lieth's study and training was going well. Lieth studied rigorously, aiming to become as brilliant as his mentor. Aware of Lieth's natural abilities with the healing arts, the Doctor hired different tutors and mages to teach Lieth how to harness his natural gifts and further his skills. Years passed, and at the age of 20, Lieth had become a very capable Acolyte. The Doctor was very proud of him, and Lieth was glad to meet his mentor's expectations of him. The happiness however, didn't last. The Doctor began to bring Lieth to Linhythe to personally assist him in his work as a private doctor and healer for the criminal organization. Lieth was horrified. At first, he could not believe that person he have long ago called father, dabbled in criminal activities. The Doctor aided criminal organizations, and he expected Lieth to follow in his footsteps. Reluctantly, Lieth began to assist the Doctor, convincing himself that this is the only way to repay his mentor's kindness to him.

Two years later, Lieth found the cold body of the Doctor on the floor of their home after a fallout within the syndicate. Lieth packed up and left Koben and with nowhere else to go he decided to to travel and continue his training on his own. It was difficult at first, but he quickly came to the adapt to the life of a wanderer, and the solitude that came with it.

He ended up in many places, constantly travelling, never staying in one place, constantly working under different people, learning under different mentors, but never making a connection with anyone... Until he came upon the city of Amedra, finally as a fully capable Exorcist. Lieth found work within Amedra, where people would call upon him for his services as a healer and it is also in Amedra where he met his future spouse, Judith Sawyer. Judith changed Lieth's life, and the attraction between the two was mutual. After a year of courting and companionship, the two wedded. In Amedra, Lieth decided to end his travels and settle down.
